Assess

We start every project by verifying what the need is, and where your organization is in tackling that need. We want to define what we’re solving, and gather context around the issue. We’ll kick off with an in-person session, and leave this phase with clearly articulated project objectives that address your needs, and a project management process in place to structure the rest of our work together. Most importantly, we’ll have started the process of getting to know you, and gotten critical institutional knowledge to target where we can add the most value.

Improve

After implementation, we figure out what needs to happen in the short- and long-term to ensure your solution is as successful as possible. A solution only works if it’s sustainable. We evaluate the impact then create a feedback loop to make changes viable. This helps you measure and track your progress even after the engagement is over.

Engage

Before this stage, we’ll have started the process of mapping out who your key stakeholders are. We prioritize engaging impacted groups from the outset so that they are part of, and embrace, each solution designed. We also find that the most innovative solutions are created when blending on-the-ground perspective with research and the best project management techniques. We’ll use this step to set expectations, establish our role, collect input, and define what we’re trying to accomplish. Getting stakeholder input comes in many shapes and sizes. We use structured interviews, surveys, focus groups, town hall meetings, advisory boards, and more to ensure all stakeholders are comfortable sharing their perspectives and opinions.

Evaluate

We help you define what success looks like, something that we’ve already begun in the Assess phase of the project. We’ll help identify the types of data you’ll need to be tracking and measuring, and at what intervals to take stock. This will set you up with the infrastructure needed to know how your solution is performing, and the ability to continuously improve on the results you see.

Create Solutions

This is the meat and potatoes: we design a solution to address your needs - one that fits your organizational culture and is attainable for your team to adopt. It could be a new strategic plan or training; refined process flows or operating model; a series of survey questions or a set of performance metrics - or blend of several things. No matter the output, collaboration and iteration are key in this phase. We give you initial ideas, get your reaction, and tweak our approach accordingly. Your input is crucial in helping us understand what we don’t yet know, or what we might have missed. Once we’ve gotten your feedback, we hone and develop our solutions and recommendations to get ready for turning them into action.

Implement

A key part of the value we add is in helping organizations implement change management strategies that improve how they provide their services and do their work. While every organization is unique, we have a proven set of tools, templates, and methods that we’ll tailor to your design solution to give your team tangible ways to get to where you need to go (think budget templates, management surveys, work plans, process flows, staff protocols, etc.). Because every problem is unique, we’ll also work with you to build the blueprint based on new approaches and frameworks specific to your designed solution.
