Eeraj is passionate about empowering our world’s most vulnerable communities through creative long-term solutions.

Eeraj graduated from New York University where she majored in Political Science. During her undergraduate years Eeraj was predominantly involved with organizations like Amnesty International, United to End Genocide, and Immigrant Justice Initiative to empower migrants and refugees. Eeraj continued her work with the migrant community in the workforce and found that her interest in empowering the migrant community went beyond immigration. She was interested in creating effective systems of support for vulnerable populations including those struggling with houselessness, affordable housing, and racial justice. She comes to Public Works as an Analyst on our Client Services team after spending some time in city government at the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs.
 

Experience
  • Organized and distributed a national campaign at Amnesty International to raise awareness about U.S. detention centers. Eeraj also drove the preliminary research investigating the conditions of detention centers across the United States.
  • Coordinated and managed the contracting process for ActionNYC partners at the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs. Collected data and reported data published in MOIA’s Annual Report.

  • Volunteers at the Islamic Center at New York University
  • Enjoys strolls around the city looking for the best dessert spots
  • Documents her daily life in the city
