Benjamin develops strategies and implements solutions that position mission-driven organizations to achieve their goals.

Benjamin is a mission-driven professional with extensive experience designing programs and services that advance the goals of government agencies and the communities they serve. In his role as Executive Director for Growth Services at the NYC Department of Small Businesses Services, Benjamin created initiatives to support small businesses across New York City, providing services focused on financial education, regulatory and legal support, and emergency preparedness and business resiliency. Benjamin has worked across the public, private and social sectors and appreciates the importance of investing in partnerships to expand impact. Benjamin is a native German speaker and is fluent in Spanish.

Experience
  • Previously served as the Executive Director for Growth Services at the NYC Department of Small Business Services designing and implementing programs to help businesses grow and thrive in New York City
  • Led the build-out of business resiliency programming after Hurricane Sandy in collaboration with city, state, and federal agencies
  • Former management consultant at McKinsey & Company
  • M.A. in International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, with a concentration in sustainable energy policy
  • B.A. in International Affairs and Governance from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland)

  • Benjamin is proud new father and enjoys experiencing every day adventures through the eyes of a toddler
  • Avid basketball enthusiast coming to terms with the closing window of playing career
  • Loves to cook for friends and family
