Alex applies sector-based expertise to support client needs and deliver actionable results.

An experienced consultant, nonprofit manager, and public sector analyst, Alex brings to Public Works a deep sensitivity to his clients’ needs and the realities they face in their day-to-day work. Bringing to bear a toolkit combining program design, strategic planning and communications, research and analysis, and implementation, Alex has achieved impactful results for many different organizations – from small local nonprofits to large national foundations. Alex has particular expertise in nonprofit finances and government budgeting.
 

Experience
  • Five years of experience in nonprofit and public sector consulting, working with a broad range of clients to achieve goals related to financial sustainability, organizational and operational strength, strategic planning, program design and implementation, and research and evaluation.
  • Served as a lead analyst on the CDBG-DR Task Force at the New York City Office of Management and Budget (NYC OMB) where he managed a $3 billion federal grant funding vital disaster response and climate resiliency programs across the five boroughs.
  • Lead in the development of a public policy agenda and strategy for RIP Medical Debt, a nonprofit eliminating personal medical debt by purchasing large bundles of debt using private donations.
  • Master of Public Administration and Nonprofit Management and Policy (MPA-PNP) from NYU Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service
  • B.A. in Politics from Bates College

  • On any given morning, Alex can be found obsessively tending to his houseplants
  • Loves to cook for loved ones, and is always game to try a new and challenging recipe
  • Enjoys long solo walks through Prospect Park
