Get to know Bebe
Bebe attended Wesleyan University where she majored in History with a focus on cities. Knowing that she was interested in History and that she had a deep love and appreciation for her home city of NYC, she sought out internships in those areas. This led Bebe to spend two summers working at the Museum of the City of New York. This experience was very informative and provided Bebe with fresh insights on cultural institutions.
As she prepared to graduate, Bebe knew she was interested in continuing to support cultural institutions though she wondered what that might look like in the private sector. That curiosity segued to a role at Cultural Counsel, an NYC PR firm that represents artists and festivals. The environment was fast-pace and taught Bebe a great deal about meeting tight deadlines and prioritization. After Cultural Counsel, she looked for a role that better reflected her love of cities and was connected to social impact. Her next move was to work at a mission-driven architecture firm that aims to improve cities and individuals’ quality of life. While at the firm, Bebe spearheaded a new website design, created promotional materials, and further developed her project management skills.
The role taught her a great deal about marketing and design, but she was ready to dive deeper into urban planning work while maintaining her interest in social impact. Bebe was immediately intrigued by Public Works because she was able to be exposed to urban planning projects as well as nonprofit work all while utilizing her communications skills. Public Works’ mission also stood out to her – she loved the idea of supporting organizations that were working to improve neighborhoods and communities. As she begins her role at Public Works, she is especially excited to help communicate the firm’s impact and tell our clients stories in a meaningful way.
Outside of work you can find Bebe taking pottery classes, a newfound hobby of hers. She loves to cook all different kinds of foods and enjoys exploring new neighborhoods where she’s always scouting out new restaurants. Bebe also enjoys reading and hanging out with her rescue cat named Gus.
