Double Digits! #10YearsOfPublicWorks: We are turning 10 this year! In honor of a decade of building stronger communities, we will be taking a look back at ten of our most influential projects. We will be featuring one project each month leading up to the company’s official anniversary in December 2020. This month we are kicking things off with a reflection piece on the last ten years from our CEO, Celeste Frye. Check out the Public Works IQ blog to read Celeste’s thoughts on the firm’s beginnings, its growth, and what comes next.
Public Works helps in the flight against climate change: Public Works was excited to lead community outreach efforts for the NYC Economic Development Corporation and Mayor’s Office of Resiliency’s interactive community open house on February 24th. Over 300 people attended the event, including school children, residents, elected officials, and representatives from local community organizations. The aim of the open house was to engage residents, business owners, workers, and youth in the Financial District and Seaport neighborhoods about potential solutions to fight against superstorms and other threats stemming from climate change. In order to prepare for the event, Public Works conducted outreach via community canvassing, event tabling, and targeted briefings to key stakeholders representing constituencies in the project area. Thank you to all who attended and made the open house such a success.
