We’re excited that our client, NYU-Poly, just announced the launch of its proof-of-concept center for clean energy technology–part of a system of three funded across the state by the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority. POCCs play an important role in the commercialization of technology. Mature concepts may graduate from the laboratory, but not yet be ready to be harnessed in a commercial market. The POCC is where researchers and entrepreneurs prototype and test concepts that bring innovation to fruition in the wider world.
Once a viable prototype is developed, the inventors can then move on to find venture funding or move into a business incubator to develop a fuller business plan.
Public Works Partners was engaged by NYU-Poly to develop its proposal to NYSERDA for this proof of concept center. We worked with stakeholders in the college to distill the most essential and compelling elements of a proof-of-concept center plan, and then managed the effort to pull together the winning application.
